Hone’s Tavern
Hone is a woman who is half elf. She has a companion, a man, who often tends the bar. There is a monolith behind the tavern with runes carved into it. There is also a small, but elegant home next to the tavern.
The tavern does have rooms for sleeping although rumor has it that you may wake up in a different place.
The tavern has no set location, or even time. If you leave, don’t expect it where you found it. Also, when you return, Hone, or her companion, may not remember you. It may be a different when for them.
Hone’s companion, is a historian. He tends to be interested in historical things. Again, if you discussed something with him, the next time that may be meaningless. Given the state of time for either of them, they tend to seem “forgetful” to many. It’s all sort of new to them. As Hone doesn’t age much, its very hard to tell from her apparent age whether the Hone you see is before or after the last time. Her companion (who is nameless to the outside) while “human” seems even less affected by aging than she does.
Hone’s tavern has every drink you can think of.
Guests are always anonymous and neither Hone, nor her companion, will tell you much about them.
Often, the guests will have actually have wandered in from The Cities, or Zethicia, or some other city/plane and simply stayed around long enough to “move.” It is not understood how the tavern occupies space in The Cities, other than it seems to always replace an existing tavern temporarily.
Once you have visited Hone’s tavern it is easier to visit again. Telling someone about Hone’s tavern is meaningless. They will never be able to find it based on your information—even if a mind scan was used.
There are rumors of guests going wild and attacking Hone or her companion. Those rumors have never been confirmed. The guests who supposedly did the attacking have never been interviewed.
It is even more unlikely that the rumors of gods, demi-gods, and named demons visiting are true, yet they do persist.
Well if you can’t find Jim browns house to go get distributed, you go to hones instead
Nonsense. Hone’s has the opportunity for “Fabulous Powers” and you have successfully done at least one, if not several, adventures initiated there. Throwing a brick at Jim Brown’s house (and he is 86 now, so we may have to come up with a different metaphor) and walking away hasn’t been done by the Oids yet!
